On 5 December 2025, during the award ceremony for the APAV Research Award 2025, held at APAV’s headquarters, an honourable mention was awarded to the VicTory project team, ongoing at CIJ, for their work titled “Needs of victims of hate incidents and violent extremism and institutional responses in Portugal and Europe”.
The prize aims to recognise original scientific research that advances knowledge in the fields of victimology, justice, and social support, with a demonstrable impact on improving responses to victims of crime in Portugal.
This distinction reflects CIJ’s commitment to cutting-edge research in sensitive areas of significant public relevance, such as hate crime and extremism.
