Rita Tavares de Pina earned her LL.M. in Tax from King’s College, University of London, her Postgraduate Studies in Business and Taxation from the Instituto Superior de Estudos Financeiros e Fiscais in Lisbon and her J.D. from the University of Lisbon Law School. After earning her LL.M., Rita worked in London, first as a senior analyst in the transfer pricing team of Deloitte and then as an in-house transfer pricing consultant for a Fortum 500 multinational. From 2005 to 2018 Rita Tavares de Pina was part of the Transfer Pricing Team of PwC in New York. Currently, Rita Tavares de Pina is a Managing Director in the Transfer Pricing practice of the law firm DLA Piper in New York
Rita Tavares de Pina assists clients with managing their dispute resolution strategy and with planning and implementation global transfer pricing methodologies in light of both the U.S. Transfer Pricing Regulations and the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines. Rita Tavares de Pina also has considerable experience representing businesses in connection with Advance Pricing Agreements, Competent Authority procedures and audit matters.
Rita Tavares de Pina has collaborated with CIJ since 2001. Rita Tavares de Pina previously taught graduate tax programs at the University of Oporto Law School, Portugal, and at Baruch College, The City University of New York. Between 2001 e 2022 Rita Tavares de Pina was a writer for the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Throughout her career, Rita Tavares de Pina has shared her experience in tax law and transfer pricing in seminars organized by several institutions, such as, Tax Executives Institute, Bloomberg BNA and the International Tax Review.
