André Lamas Leite

André Lamas Leite holds a degree (2000), a masters (2005) and a PhD (2016) in Law (Criminal Law), having developed his academic career between the Faculties of Law of the Universities of Coimbra and Porto. He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, where he has taught since 2000. He has also worked at Universidade Europeia, in Lisbon, and the Universidade Lusíada do Porto.

He is a lawyer and trainer at the Conselho Regional do Porto of the Portuguese Bar Association. He also works as a legal consultant.

He is President of the Pedagogical Council of the Faculty of Law of Porto (and, inherently, a member of the University's Senate), Coordinator of the Mobility Office and a member of the Scientific Committee of the First Cycle of Studies in Law.

He was legal advisor to H.E. the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, and was publicly praised in the official gazette.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of several legal and criminological journals in Portugal and abroad, and has published more than 100 papers.

His research interests cover Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Criminology.
