André Lamas Leite holds a degree (2000), a master's (2005) and a PhD (2016) in Law (Legal-Criminal Sciences), having developed his academic career between the Faculties of Law of the Universities of Coimbra and Porto. He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, where he has taught since 2000. He has also worked at Universidade Europeia, in Lisbon, and the Universidade Lusíada do Porto.
He is a lawyer and trainer at the Conselho Regional do Porto of the Portuguese Bar Association. He also works as a legal consultant.
He is President of the Pedagogical Council of the Faculty of Law of Porto (and, inherently, a member of the University's Senate), Coordenador do Gabinete de Mobilidade and a member of the Comissão Científica do Primeiro Ciclo de Estudos em Direito.
He was legal advisor to H.E. the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, and was publicly praised in the official gazette.
He is a member of the Conselho de Redacção of several legal and criminology journals in Portugal and abroad, having published more than 100 papers.
His research interests cover Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Criminology.
