At a time when the prison system continues to generate debate regarding its effectiveness, the conditions under which it is applied, and its human consequences, it becomes essential to open the analysis to the complexity of experiences lived in and with prison. This conference aims to create a space for critical and interdisciplinary reflection on the phenomenon of incarceration, incorporating alternative perspectives that complement traditional normative and legal approaches. The event brings together contributions from different fields of knowledge to Criminology, with the purpose of presenting diverse views and interpretations that often remain on the margins of dominant discourses on prison. It proposes a multidisciplinary discussion that addresses incarceration not only as a space of physical control and containment but also as a context of symbolic, emotional, and creative production, where resistances, adaptations, and relationships circulate.
 
Thus, we invite you to submit an abstract proposal for the thematic sessions of this conference on the following topics:
- Prison environment and prison architecture
- Narratives and experiences in prison settings
- Health and quality of life in prison settings
- Seclusion and shift in prison settings
 
Other related topics will be considered in additional thematic sessions. So, please feel free to submit a proposal on other topics.
 
Submission guidelines

- All abstracts must include a title, abstract (≤ 250 words), authors, affiliations, and 3-5 keywords.
