Inês Barbosa da Fonseca

Junior Researcher

Inês Barbosa da Fonseca holds a bachelor’s degree (2019) and a master’s degree (2021) in Criminology from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Criminology, having been awarded an individual research grant by the Foundation for Science and Technology. Her research has examined the direct and indirect effects of school factors and parenting practices on juvenile delinquency. More recently, she has deepened her work in the fields of developmental criminology, developmental risk-focused prevention, and evaluation of delinquency prevention programs, which are central themes of her doctoral project. She has been part of the research team of important scientific projects, such as the “PROTECT-C” project funded by La Caixa Foundation, has published articles and book chapters in the criminological field, and has participated as a speaker in several national and international conferences, including the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Criminology and the Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology.
