Junior Researcher
Sérgio Filipe Antunes Dias is a Ph.D. student in Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto (FDUP). He holds a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Minho (UM) and a Master's in Child Studies from the same university, specializing in psychosocial intervention with children and families. His doctoral research focuses on Crossover Youth.
He has a diverse professional background, having served as a member of the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) for 19 years and as a technician at the Comissão Nacional de Promoção dos Direitos e Proteção de Crianças e Jovens (CPCJ), with a focus on educational safety and risk behavior prevention among young people.
Currently, he is a junior researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Justice (CIJ), with a particular interest in research on crossover youth and the interaction between child protection and juvenile justice systems. He has also presented at several conferences and has submitted publications, further consolidating his contributions to criminology and studies on the justice system.
