Junior Researcher
Dayanne Jaques holds a degree in Law, a Master's in Criminology, and is currently a PhD candidate in Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. Her Master's research focused on the incarceration experiences of the LGBT community in Brazilian prisons, and she is currently focusing on the risk and care experiences of transgender individuals in prisons in Brazil and Portugal. Over the years, she has collaborated and served as a researcher in various groups dedicated to gender and sexuality studies, criminal law, and criminology. She is a member of the International Association of Portuguese-Speaking Criminology and the European Society of Criminology’s Working Groups on Prisons and Qualitative Research Methodologies and Epistemologies. Her main research interests include gender studies, LGBTQIA+ rights, prison studies, and domestic violence.
