Knowledge is Power: Towards a Comprehensive Approach to Diminish Fake News Spread and Susceptibility

The study, whose team also includes CIJ researchers Carla Cardoso, Gilda Santos, Samuel Moreira, Margarida Santos, and Josefina Castro, as well as FDUP Criminology Master's student Matilde Vilhena, aims to analyse the factors that influence susceptibility to and the spread of fake news.

Funded by laCaixa Foundation, this is the first study in Portugal to delve into this subject with a representative sample, and it aims to have a positive impact on the fight against disinformation.

It will last two years and will be funded with 109,259.18€
