International Conference - Prison systems and prison architecture: how are they related? A European perspective

The School of Criminology of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and the CIJ, together with Gefo.ch - Gefängnisforschung.Schweiz have the honour of inviting you to take part in the international Conference ‘Prison systems and prison architecture: how are they related? A European perspective’, which will take place on 24 and 25 October at the FDUP's Main Hall.

This conference aims to explore the relationship between prison architecture and prison design and some of the central elements inherent in the functioning and experience of prison systems. With a view to comparatively analysing the experience of various countries in relation to these elements, as well as two plenary sessions with papers by national and international experts, the conference will include a series of parallel sessions involving national and international researchers and students carrying out research on the conference theme.
