Conference "50 years since the 25th of April, what role for the Public Prosecutor's Office in Portugal?"

FDUP's Main Hall

14 May 2024

As part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, the CIJ and the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto will be hosting the conference "50 years since the 25th of April, what role for the Public Prosecutor's Office in Portugal?" on the 14th of May.

The anniversary is a particularly important moment to reflect on the role of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The conference is divided into three panels, titled "The Public Prosecutor's Office as the holder of the enquiry?", "Autonomy and hierarchy of the Public Prosecutor's Office: an (im)possible balance?" and "The Public Prosecutor's Office as perceived by the community - "mega-operations" to "mega-absolutions", followed by a debate.

The event is organised by André Lamas Leite, Professor at FDUP and CIJ researcher.

The event is scheduled for 9am in the FDUP's Main Hall.
