17 February 2024 marks the start of application of the Digital Services Regulation.

This is a European Union Regulation that provides harmonised rules for a secure, predictable, reliable online environment that respects fundamental rights, enshrining specific due diligence obligations adapted to certain categories of intermediary service providers.

ANACOM has been designated the competent and coordinating authority for digital services in Portugal.

To mark the implementation of the Regulation, the Jean Monnet DigEUCit Module - A Digital Europe for Citizens team is promoting the webinar "Dialogues on the Digital Services Regulation" on 6 March 2024 at 6pm.

The webinar, featuring Graça Enes and Inês Neves (professors at FDUP and members of the Jean Monnet Module team), Inês Ferrari Careto (Senior Associate at Morais Leitão) and João Diogo Quartilho (Senior Legal Counsel at Booking.com) and is part of the 2nd edition of the DigEuCit Course - "Artificial Intelligence at the Service of People", which will begin on 4 March 2024 and for which registration is still open, available here.

Participation in the webinar is open to the community and is free of charge, but registration is required.
