Collaborator Researcher
Ana Guerreiro has a PhD in Criminology with a FCT Fellowship (Ref.ª SFRH/BD/143202/2019) at FDUP - Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, through the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Justice (CIJ). She is an Assistant Professor at UMaia - Universidade da Maia and an Invited Assistant Professor at FDUP, having also collaborated with UPM - Unidade Politécnica Militar (academic year 2021-2022). She is currently the director of the Unidade de Investigação em Criminologia e Ciências do Comportamento at UMaia (UICCC/UMaia), researcher at the Centro Interdisciplinar de Estudos de Género of the Instituto de Ciências Sociais e Políticas at Universidade de Lisboa (CIEG-ISCSP, UL), and collaborator researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Justice (CIJ).
Her main areas of research are gender-based violence, gender studies, female criminality, organised and violent crime and prevention policies. She is also a member of various international groups such as the European Society of Criminology, the European Gender, Crime and Justice, European Working group on Organizational Crime (EUROC), ESC Working Group on Sentencing & Penal Decision-Making, European Network on Gender and Violence and Associação Portuguesa de Criminologia.
She was Research Projects Manager at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto (2018-2019) and Criminologist at UMAR from 2014-2018. These activities brought her experience in various projects, as well as several national and international publications in scientific journals, books and book chapters.
