Josefina Castro

Josefina Castro holds a Master's degree in Criminology from the Faculty of Law, University of Porto, and a degree in Psychology from the same university. Currently, she serves as an Invited Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Lusíada University, Porto, teaching in the Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology.
Josefina Castro is a researcher at CIJ - Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Justice (Faculty of Law, University of Porto) and CEJEIA - Centre for Legal, Economic, International and Environmental Studies (Lusíada University). Her primary research interests include juvenile justice, developmental and life-course criminology, security governance, and restorative justice. She has participated in several research projects at both national and international levels and has multiple publications on these subjects.
From 1999 to 2018, she held the position of Invited Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Porto. During this period, she taught undergraduate and master's programs in Criminology and also served as the Deputy Director (Diretora Adjunta) of the School of Criminology.
