Conference "Platform Justice, Wikipedia and Misinformation"

On 3 November 2025, at 4 p.m., the conference “Platform Justice, Wikipedia and Misinformation” will take place in Amphitheatre 101 of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto.

The speaker will be Professor David Nelken, from King’s College London (United Kingdom).

With an international academic career, Professor David Nelken has taught Law at Cambridge, Edinburgh, and University College London, as well as at the University of Macerata in Italy. He later became Professor and researcher at Cardiff University, and subsequently Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford.

Widely recognised for his outstanding contribution to Criminology and the Sociology of Law, he has received several awards, including the Sellin-Glueck Award from the American Society of Criminology (2009) and the International Scholar Award from the Law & Society Association (2013).

His research - both theoretical and empirical - explores key topics on Comparative Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Social and Legal Theory.
