As part of the celebration of APAV's 35th anniversary, CIJ/FDUP and the Portuguese Victim Support Association (APAV) are organising a Victimology Masterclass on the theme of ‘Narrative Victimology: from theory to practice’. This training cycle will consist of two complementary but independent moments, which can be attended together or separately:
- Introductory Session on Narrative Victimology, with Jorge Gracia Ibanez and Nathália Castro da Silva
- 15 May | 16h00 - 17h30
- Online format/via zoom (in Portuguese)
- Objective: Initial approach to the concepts and foundations of Narrative Victimology
- Masterclass "Narrative Victimology: from theory to practice", with Antony Pemberton and Eva Mulder
- 26th May | 9h30 - 18h00
- Faculty of Law of the University of Porto (entirely in English)
- Objective: In-depth analysis of Narrative Victimology, highlighting the articulation between its theoretical foundations and its practical application.
You can enrol for just one or both events, depending on your interest and availability. Nevertheless, we recommend attending the Introductory Session, especially for those who will have their first contact with this approach. Aimed at the academic and professional community, these initiatives are a privileged opportunity to learn, share experiences and critically reflect on themes that are central to research and intervention with victims of crime.
Participation is free, but subject to registration and limited to the number of places available (for the face-to-face event, 50 places). Registration must be made via this
link. For both events, only registrations made by the end of 14 May 2025 will be considered.
