Free Course “Roman Law - Fundamentals”

The study of Roman Law is part of the European legal tradition. In fact, since the beginning of the university study of Law in Bologna, Roman Law has been studied as a main or complementary subject in the main European faculties. As a complement to the annual introductory course in the History of Law, we are now offering a short course in Roman Law, dedicated to its Foundations, which, as well as responding to the historical interest in it, can serve as a complementary element to more in-depth training in Civil Law.

Recipients: FDUP students or alumni who have already completed the History of Law course. The course only opens with a minimum of five participants.
Support elements will be provided during the course.

Dates: 10 sessions of 2 hours, from March to May 2025 (on Wednesdays, from 1pm to 3pm, from March 5 to May 14, with a break during Easter week).
Possibility of changing class times by agreement with participants.

Registration fee: €10.

Registration via the Registration Form or via Sigarra.

Lecturer: Professor Tiago Azevedo Ramalho.
