Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the CIJ

The Board of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Justice (CIJ) is pleased to invite you to the celebration of its 25th anniversary, which will take place at the Main Hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, on 13th December 2024.

This milestone reflects the evolution and impact of CIJ in legal and criminological research since its founding, in 1999, as the first R&D Unit in Law recognised by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.

Over these 25 years, CIJ has expanded its research scope, initially focused on legal-economic sciences, later encompassing all legal areas, and more recently embracing criminological studies.

With a strong national and international presence, CIJ has been the hub for innovative projects and initiatives that have involved not only the academic community but also public and private institutions, contributing to this scientific fields.

This will be a moment to celebrate and reflect on the journey thus far, marked by collaborations with renowned partners, a commitment to advanced training, and a continuous dedication to scientific excellence.
It would be an honour for CIJ to have you with us from 2.30pm December 13th, to celebrate this history, share memories, and chart new paths for the future.
