Open Class "Photography in the (re)production of reality. Uses in Criminology"

On 8 April, it will taken place the Open Class "Photography in the (re)production of reality. Uses in Criminology", given by Luís Barbosa, one of the photographers responsible for The Prison Photo Project (https://www.prisonphotoproject.pt/pt/).
The lecture is part of the Qualitative Methods course of the 1st Cycle of Studies in Criminology and is organised by the School of Criminology and the CIJ/FDUP.
The lecture is scheduled for 2pm in room 0.01 of the FDUP.
 
About the speaker:
Luís Barbosa lives and works in Porto where he was born in 1975. He completed the Professional Photography Course in 2003 at the Portuguese Institute of Photography (IPF) in Porto. As a freelancer he has been documenting festivals and cultural activities in Porto and the north of Portugal, namely Futureplaces, Nomadic, Manobras no Porto, Festival do Norte, Rota do Românico. He has exhibited his work in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, Slovakia and Lithuania, most notably the exhibition The Portuguese Prison Photo Project at the Portuguese Photography Centre in 2017, which was awarded the "Plastic Arts - Photography" prize by SPA. He has been published in a number of magazines including Le Journal de la Photographie (France), Orion Magazine (USA), WIP Magazine (Greece) and Aorta Magazine (Poland).
