She has a PhD in Psychology from the Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto, a degree in Law and a master's degree in Criminology from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. Lecturer on the undergraduate and master's programmes in Criminology at the Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais in Universidade Fernando Pessoa.
Her research interests reflect her interdisciplinary background, focusing on the field of justice and crime, with a particular emphasis on the legal professions and feminist jurisprudence, and organized/transnational crime and gender.
Member of the Research Committee on Sociology of Law of the International Law Association.
Member of the Portuguese Association of Women Jurists.
