The Transfer of Corporate Headquarters

 

Repeating a past successful experience, the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and the School of Law of the University of Minho (in association with the CIJ - Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar em Justiça, da FDUP and CEDU - Centro de Estudos em Direito da União Europeia (EDUM) held a joint colloquium, again on a cutting-edge theme of national and European corporate law: the cross-border change of corporate headquarters. In the colloquium, the arrangements for this change of seat were examined in the light of recent CJEU case law on the subject, taking into account the changes it has brought about in the laws of different Member States. Particular focus has obviously been given to the Portuguese regime, which will address the difficulties, advantages and disadvantages associated with such an operation.
