Lyons, Timothy
Timothy Lyons, BL, QC, PhD, is a well-known advocate and practises in tax, customs and trade law, with a particular interest in EU and WTO law. He has appeared in the Court of Justice of the EU and in courts at all levels in the UK.
His clients include well-known businesses, individuals and governments based in a number of Member States and beyond. He is qualified in England and Wales and in Ireland and is registered on the EU List of the Dutch Brussels Bar.
Timothy’s many publications include extensive contributions on the EU law of free movement in the context of tax, particularly in the British Tax Review, and "EC Customs Law" (Oxford University Press) a third edition of which will be published in 2018.
Timothy lectures for the European Judicial Training Network as well as at universities such as the London School of Economics, Leiden, Münster. He is pleased to have a longstanding association with CIJ and has presented at a number of conferences at Porto University. Two of his articles appear in II and III Congresso de Direito Fiscal (Vida Económica) edited by Glória Teixeira.
